The Freeride World tour website features a recap of the 2017 Summer Shredfest 2 Star Qualifier event. Here’s an excerpt:
There are few places on this planet like Montana’s Beartooth Basin. This tiny ski area sits high on Beartooth Pass, a summer-only operation that fires up its two Poma surface lifts when the high alpine road opens each spring and then shuts down when the snow finally melts. With no lodge or meaningful infrastructure other than an old Airstream trailer that serves as the ski area’s ticket “office” and operations base, it’s a throwback to simpler times, when the only focus was sliding on snow with friends.
